On August 6th, MBC remarked, "MBC and Sony Pictures Entertainment Network Asia (Sony Network) exchanged a declaration of intent to prepare production and broadcast for an international version of 'We Got Married'."
According to MBC, both MBC and Sony Network exchanged this declaration of intent on July 18th. MBC then began producing an international version of 'We Got Married', and Sony Network will be broadcasting the show in 41 countries including China, Taiwan, India, Australia, and more.
The new international version of 'We Got Married' will have the same format as the Korean version, where two paired couples will carry out an on-screen marriage
Approximately 12-15 episodes will air each season, and Sony Network will be meeting with the viewers all over the world through this program. Last Valentine's Day, MBC aired a Chinese version of 'We Got Married' as a way of celebrating 20 years of diplomatic relations between Korea and China. The show was a huge success, and the international version is expected to be met with explosive responses from fans all over the world.
Meanwhile, the international 'We Got Married' is scheduled to air this winter or next Spring.
