Actor Lee Byung Hun's first historical drama movie 'Masquerade' (Korean title: 'Gwang Hae: The Man Who Became King') will be opening in South Korea and North America almost simultaneously.
'Masquerade' is written by 'Old Boy's co-writer Hwang Jo Yoon and is directed by Choo Chang Min. Set in the Joseon period, Lee Byung Hun ('G.I. Joe 2', 'Iris') will be playing the roles of both King Gwang Hae and the commoner Ha Seon who looks just like the king.
When King Gwang Hae finds that people within the palace are trying to assassinate him, he calls upon his counselor Heo Gyun, played by Ryu Seung Ryong ('All About My Wife', 'Personal Taste'), to find him a look-a-like for his substitute. When the king falls sick due to a mysterious poison, his substitute Ha Seon must masquerade as the king in order to save the country.
Actress Han Hyo Joo ('Only You', 'Dongyi') will also star in the film as the queen. Other stars in the film include Jang Kwang ('Crucible'), Kim In Kwon ('Quick', 'My Way'), and Shim Eun Kyung ('Romantic Heaven', 'Sunny').
