Due to the on-going labor strike at MBC, popular variety program 'Radio Star' will not be airing a new episode on Wednesday night.
It was revealed by MBC on its official website that on April 4th, the regular broadcast of 'Radio Star', which would have featured actor Choi Min Soo as its guest, will be replaced by a "special" or re-run of the past episode.
This is not surprising considering that MBC is currently experiencing a prolonged strike by its labor union to force MBC president, Kim Jae Chul to step down due to his interference with unbalanced news reporting. A MBC official revealed, "It's really difficult to get post-production work done due to the strike, and thus we had to forgo the regular broadcast of 'Radio Star' this week."
MBC's 'Come To Play' will be next to be impacted by the strike.
Another official revealed, "We are now using footage that has been filmed prior to the strike to produce programs. A large number of staff have also left to join the strike, and we have had to rely on hiring temporary staff to make do with the present situation. It's not looking good at the moment, and we can't confirm whether we can go ahead with our regular broadcast next week for now."
