Singer Seo Taiji recently came forth with an official statement regarding the postponement of the fourth court session for his divorcing ordeal with actress Lee Ji Ah. According to Seo Taiji Company, the reason for the postponement was that although the accuser's original claim was proved wrong, the accusing side had submitted a change in their claim earlier last month. This consequently created a whole new court case in itself, which caused Seo Taiji's side to require more time for further legal investigations. Below reads the official statement. ==
Hello, this is Seo Taiji Company. The 4th court session that was scheduled to be held on July 4th was postponed. We are writing this statement to briefly talk about what Seo Taiji's lawyers have notified us regarding this issue. The accuser first lodged a lawsuit by submitting a divorce decree that stated that the marriage was terminated in January of 2009. However, Seo Taiji's lawyers personally received the divorce decree directly from the US courts and submitted it to the tribunal as proof to show that the marriage was actually terminated in 2006. In response, the accusing side made a statement saying that an employee of the US court had made a mistake, and that the defender had in fact submitted in a wrong divroce decree to the tribunal. As a result, however, the accusing side eventually acknowledged that the marriage was terminated in the US in 2006, and we will soon be making a statement that our claim has been proved right. However, on June 24th, the accusing side decided to alter their claim and made an application to make alterations. The accusing side stated, 'It is true that the accuser and defender got divorced in the US, but divorce decrees created with the US law is invalid in Korea. Moreover, as the accuser has known this truth since the early stages of litigation, the accuser will now be submitting a change in their claim to request for a new alimony with new property divisions.' It has now become a situation where a whole new argument for a completely different issue must take place. We decided to postpone the fourth court session as we believed we needed to undergo further legal investigations in order to counteract the accuser's new claim. Seo Taiji's side were hoping to wrap up the lawsuit today, but as the court case will be taking longer than anticipated, we ask for the fans' deepest understandings. Thank you.Source: Star News via Nate
