Soul Company's Jerry.k of Loquence, who briefly took a hiatus from the hip hop scene, has marked his official return with his latest single, "Letter of Resignation". The song is personal in that it details the past two years he's spent working at a top financial firm; he eventually gave it all up and handed in his letter of resignation so that he could return to his roots in music. A part of his lyrics state:
"Whenever people asked me what my dream was I always replied that it was to never let go of music, no matter where I am But you know, only writing raps when I had extra time That made me quite miserable, I couldn't live like that Try thinking of spending the majority of your life on something that isn't your dream My heart wants to soar on stage, but my body is stuck in a cubicle 2011, the first resignation of my life I'm not scared, I believe in myself I'm opening up the wings I had folded in"Jerry.k explained, "Although I didn't give up my music career while working for the past two years, I realized my need to chase after my passion, not money, and eventually came to the decision on giving up a more secure lifestyle. I'll be focusing more on my music career now, and working more actively with Soul Company." The song is available for free download at Soul Company's homepage, or through his official Facebook page.
