Actress Kim So Yeon rose in popularity with her role in 2009 hit spy drama IRIS. Although she is now cast as the main lead on the SBS show Prosecutor Princess, her popularity in IRIS still lives on in Japan. If you recall, Kim So Yeon played Kim Sun Hwa, a special agent for the North Korean government that goes from an antagonist role to a morally gray one. TBS Japan aired its first episode of IRIS on the 21st and it brought in a whopping 10.1% viewership. News of the show's success reached back to Kim So Yeon and she thanked her fans in Japan saying, "I heard that IRIS has become really popular in Japan. It makes me really happy to know that Japanese fans love the show and I feel like my role as Sunhwa flew by. I will go to greet the Japanese fans soon.
