Looks like we have another soccer-kpop overlap! With the FIFA World Cup coming up this summer, viewers won't just be watching their favorite players compete on the field: it's been announced that T-ara has been chosen to perform the Song for Park, a track now owned by Core Contents Media to support Park Ji Sung, the captain of Korea's national soccer team and a member of Manchester United. "We held an online survey that included ten singers for the Song for Park, and Kara, f(x), Davichi and T-ara stood out," the original company that held the rights to Song for Park revealed. "Park was a big player during PSV Eindhoven, so the Song for Park was written as preparation for the World Cup," a CCM rep said. "T-ara is expected to record and release the song in four months [in time for FIFA]." We've been promised a track with a catchy repeated phrase & strongly exciting melody with lyrics that all PSV soccer fans can appreciate. It'll be interesting to see yet another group joining the cheer trend, especially since we haven't seen anything like this coming from T-ara before.
