JYP Entertainment has announced the highly-anticipated global debut of its new boy group, NEXZ, scheduled for May 20 KST.
In a midnight release on May 1 KST, JYP dropped the video 'NEXZ 'Ride the Vibe' Trailer' on their official SNS channels, confirming the debut of NEXZ. The agency revealed, "Rookie boy group NEXZ will unveil their debut single 'Ride the Vibe' and officially mark their debut on May 20, 2024."
NEXZ emerges as the latest boy group from JYP Entertainment, following in the footsteps of K-pop trendsetters like Stray Kids. The group was formed in 2023 as part of Season 2 of the audition program 'Nizi Project', a collaboration between JYP Entertainment and Sony Music, Japan's largest record label. The name 'NEXZ', short for 'Next Z(G)eneration', embodies JYP's vision of bringing together members who will shape the future of music and performance, ushering in a new era.
At the debut member announcement, JYP's representative producer and 'Nizi Project' judge, J.Y. Park, expressed his aspirations for NEXZ, stating, "I hope that NEXZ will pave the way for the future with the next generation."
NEXZ's debut single album, 'Ride the Vibe', heralding the dawn of a new generation, will be available on various music platforms at 6 PM on May 20 KST.
