ONF made history as a group with their achievement earlier this week. The boy group shared an emotional moment with fans as they took their first ever terrestrial music show win on Music Bank, and their fourth overall win in their career. Previously, ONF had received one win for 'Beautiful Beautiful' and one win for 'Bye My Monster,' both on SBS's The Show. February 26 then marked their first ever win on Show! Champion, which was followed by this latest win on Music Bank--a crucial moment in ONF's career.
Music Bank is the first public broadcast/terrestrial channel music show that ONF has won, which differs from other music shows like Show! Champion in that it is aired on a main public broadcasting station, rather than only online or on cable channels. Public broadcast music shows like Music Bank and Music Core are often considered to be more prestigious and difficult to win, making this a particularly special achievement for ONF.
The win occurred 2,766 days (8 years) after ONF's debut, which is the second longest amount of time a group has ever taken to receive a terrestrial music show win. ONF's record is only surpassed by Brave Girls, who received their first music show win after 9 years and 11 months as a group.
ONF received the win for their recent comeback with 'The Stranger,' and shared an emotional moment on stage as they realized that they had won. The group then continued on to showcase their powerful live vocals during the encore stage.
Congratulations to ONF on their well-deserved achievement!
