Former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, who faced allegations of workplace harassment, has stated that she will proceed with an appeal against the labor office’s fine.
The Seoul Regional Employment and Labor Office recently ruled on a complaint filed by former ADOR employee 'A' against Min Hee Jin, determining that "The remarks and actions repeatedly directed by the perpetrator (Min Hee Jin) toward the complainant in October and December 2023 exceeded the appropriate scope of workplace interactions and caused physical and psychological distress, worsening the working environment," and issued a fine.
The Labor Office explained, "Min Hee Jin's remarks to executive 'B,' who was reported for sexual harassment and workplace bullying, could have inflicted physical and mental distress on 'A' or worsened their work environment, thereby constituting workplace harassment." The office also acknowledged that Min Hee Jin had taken a biased approach to the case.
However, on March 24, Min Hee Jin’s side told Monthly Chosun, "After reviewing the response letter regarding the case's outcome, it was found that the facts surrounding the alleged workplace harassment were misinterpreted, and the legal principles of the Labor Standards Act regarding workplace harassment and the duty of an impartial investigation were misunderstood." They further stated, "We will promptly submit our position to the administrative office and proceed with the formal appeal process step by step."
Meanwhile, Min Hee Jin is also engaged in ongoing legal disputes with 'A.' In August of last year, 'A' filed a lawsuit against Min for defamation and violations of the Personal Information Protection Act, also seeking damages. The first trial hearing was held on the 17th, during which the court requested both parties to organize and submit their necessary arguments regarding the submitted evidence. Both sides agreed to this request. The next hearing is scheduled for May 26.
