As of March 12, MBC's entertainment program 'Good Day' has decided to remove the scene where comedian Jo Se Ho impersonates the late Wheesung's hit song 'Can't We' in the upcoming broadcast. The scene was initially included in the first teaser for Episode 5, set to air on March 16, prior to the news of Wheesung's passing.
The teaser, which had been released before the tragic news of Wheesung's death, showed Jo Se Ho performing an impersonation of Wheesung's famous song during a karaoke session with celebrities like G-Dragon, Kim Go Eun, and Jung Hae In. However, following the unfortunate incident, it has been confirmed that the scene has been removed from the final version of the episode, and will not be aired during the actual broadcast.
Jo Se Ho, known for his ability to impersonate Wheesung, had a strong bond with the late singer. Wheesung had previously expressed his appreciation, stating in an earlier interview, "Thanks to Jo Se Ho, my songs have become more widely recognized."
Wheesung was found in a state of cardiac arrest at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on March 10, passing away at the age of 43. The sudden loss has prompted an outpouring of tributes from both colleagues in the entertainment industry and fans.
The two shared a close friendship, often showing playful interactions on social media. Wheesung once posted a video of Jo Se Ho singing 'I Even Thought About Marriage' at a karaoke session, highlighting their camaraderie. However, in light of the tragic circumstances, the Good Day production team decided to edit out the scene to be respectful.
The wake for Wheesung will be held at the Samsung Seoul Hospital funeral hall on March 14. The funeral procession will take place on March 16, with the burial at Gwangneung Memorial Park.
