As of February 19, Yoo Ah In, who was recently released from detention, is set to make his comeback with the upcoming film 'The Match,' scheduled for release in March.

On the 19th, the production team behind 'The Match' (Director: Kim Hyung Joo | Distributor: By4M Studio | Production: Moonlight Film | Co-production: BH Entertainment) unveiled the film’s official trailer.

The trailer features Lee Byung Hun transforming into the legendary Go player Cho Hun Hyun. It also showcases actors Go Chang Seok, Hyun Bong Sik, Moon Jeong Hee, and Kim Kang Hoon. Although his face does not appear in the trailer, Yoo Ah In also participated in The Match, acting alongside Lee Byung Hun.

The Match tells the story of South Korea’s Go legend Cho Hun Hyun (played by Lee Byung Hun) as he faces defeat against his disciple Lee Chang Ho (played by Yoo Ah In and Kim Kang Hoon) and strives to reclaim his place at the top with his innate competitive spirit.

The film is set to premiere on March 26.

Meanwhile,Yoo Ah In had been detained while undergoing trial for habitual drug use charges. In the appellate court ruling on February 18, Yoo was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for two years, and fined 2 million KRW (about $1,380). This ruling led to his release.

Previously, in the first trial, he had received a one-year prison sentence, a 2 million KRW (about $1,380) fine, an order to complete 80 hours of drug rehabilitation education, and a forfeiture of 1.54 million KRW, leading to his legal detention.

Yoo Ah In was charged with habitual use of propofol 181 times between September 2020 and March 2022, along with 44 instances of illegally obtaining sleeping pills between May 2021 and August 2022. He was also accused of cannabis use and instructing others to smoke it.

After approximately five months in detention, Yoo Ah In’s return to the screen with 'The Match' is expected to mark his unofficial comeback, regardless of his personal intentions.
