As of February 22, the ongoing school violence allegations surrounding actress Song Ha Yoon have raised questions about her presence in the upcoming drama History of Scruffiness.

While the show has decided to proceed with its release despite the unresolved controversy involving both lead actors, Jo Byeong Kyu and Song Ha Yoon, the latest teaser suggests that Song Ha Yoon has been entirely edited out.

On February 21, streaming platforms Wavve and Watcha released the official teaser for 'History of Scruffiness' on YouTube. The 1-minute and 40-second preview featured the drama’s main cast, including Jo Byeong Kyu, Ryeoun, Jung Jae Kwang, Minah, Jung Yong Ju, Lee Min Ji, and Hwang Bo Reum Byeol. However, Song Ha Yoon, the drama’s female lead, was noticeably absent from the footage.

Song Ha Yoon was embroiled in shocking allegations last year, accused of being a perpetrator of school violence. On April 1, 2023, JTBC’s Incident Team reported claims that Song Ha Yoon slapped a male junior, identified as 'A,' for an hour and a half while attending Banpo High School. Further allegations surfaced on April 8, when a former classmate, 'B,' accused Song Ha Yoon of participating in a group assault against them.

According to 'A,' they were deeply shocked upon seeing Song Ha Yoon appear on a variety show, seemingly indifferent to the pain of past victims. However, Song Ha Yoon’s agency, King Kong by Starship, firmly denied all accusations, stating, “After confirming with Song Ha Yoon, she has no acquaintance with the informants, and all claims are completely false.”

Further suspicions arose regarding Song Ha Yoon’s transfer history, as she reportedly attended three different high schools—Jungwon High School in Bucheon, Banpo High School in Seoul’s Gangnam district, and Gujeong High School. Some speculated that these moves were due to forced transfers resulting from her alleged involvement in school violence. The agency once again denied these claims, but 'B' maintained that Song Ha Yoon directly participated in the group assault, which led to the perpetrators being forcibly transferred to different schools.

Song Ha Yoon had been enjoying immense popularity for her role as the notorious villain Jung Soo Min in tvN’s 'Marry My Husband.' However, with the emergence of the allegations, she has largely halted all activities. As the controversy remains unresolved, History of Scruffiness has released a teaser with Song Ha Yoon completely removed, leading to speculation about whether she will be entirely erased from the final cut of the drama.

Despite completing filming three years ago, 'History of Scruffiness' is finally seeing the light of day, set to premiere on February 26.
