On February 13, the production team of Netflix's hit dating reality show 'Single's Inferno 4' shared their thoughts on Yuk Jun Seo and Lee Sian's "sleeping together" scene, which became a major talking point among viewers.
In an exclusive interview with Xports News at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, 'Single's Inferno 4' directors Kim Jae Won, Kim Jung Hyun, and Park Su Ji opened up about the couple’s intimate moment that took place in Paradise.
'Single’s Inferno' is a dating reality show set on the remote island of ‘Inferno,’ where contestants must pair up to escape. Since its first season, the show has made history as the first Korean variety program to enter Netflix’s Global Top 10 (Non-English TV).
Season 2 amassed a total of 65.08 million viewing hours, while the bold twists and turns of Season 3 propelled it to the top ranks for five consecutive weeks, earning a spot on the Top 10 list in 31 countries. On February 13, the show’s rising popularity led to the confirmation of 'Single’s Inferno 5.'
One of the most buzz worthy moments from Season 4 was when final couple Yuk Jun Seo and Lee Sian spent the night together in the same bed while in Paradise. The sight shocked panelists Hong Jin Kyung, Dex, and Hanhae, who reacted with surprise, exclaiming, "What happened?!"

Regarding the scene, director Park Su Ji clarified, "There were no additional edited scenes. What you saw is exactly what happened. Cameras were present at all times, and we did not manipulate the footage." She further explained, "When editing, we prioritized following their emotions rather than just considering what viewers might like. They naturally grew closer that night, sharing a blanket and creating a true couple-like atmosphere. Since audiences would be curious about how they became so close, we wanted to show that progression."
She emphasized, "We didn’t fixate on keywords like 'bed' or 'sleeping together' when editing, but we were definitely surprised. It was a first-time occurrence on the show."

Director Kim Jae Won also commented, "The panelists may have been shocked because it happened in front of the cameras, but in reality, it’s not a big deal. It’s natural for young men and women in their twenties who are dating or developing feelings for each other."
He added, "The sparks between them were undeniable. I believe we captured this well, and it reflects the unique charm of this season. Among all seasons, Yuk Jun Seo and Lee Sian were the most genuine contestants, lowering their guard and expressing their emotions without pretense. I anticipate even more positive reactions from viewers because sincerity always prevails."
Meanwhile, 'Single’s Inferno 4' has released its final episodes and is now fully available for streaming on Netflix.
