On February 7, the Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation announced that trot singer Kim Hee Jae donated 700,000 KRW (~480 USD), the money prize he received from January's 'King of Mask Singer,' to support treatment costs of children with cancer, leukemia, and rare diseases.
The Korea Children's Cancer Foundation's surgery and hospital treatment support program provides a minimum of KRW 5 million (3,433 USD) and a maximum of KRW 30 million (20,603 USD) to children under the age of 25 diagnosed with pediatric cancer, leukemia, and rare and incurable diseases. The program covers surgery, hospital treatment, transplantation, the purchase of orphan drugs, and support for hospital aids.
Hong Seung Yoon, director of the Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation, said, "Fans and artists are doing meaningful good deeds together and touching many people. We look forward to the future activities of singer Kim Hee Jae, who is active in various fields."
