On February 24, it was confirmed that ADOR was cleared of workplace harassment accusations and illegal confinement allegations.
Earlier, NJZ's manager, identified as 'A,' alleged through media interviews that ADOR lured them into a work discussion under false pretenses and then illegally confined them for about three hours, demanding that they hand over their personal phone. Based on this claim, 'A' had reported CEO Kim Joo Young to the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL).
However, on February 24, the Seoul Regional Employment and Labor Office concluded that there was insufficient evidence to confirm workplace harassment, leading to an administrative closure (no charges). The key finding was that 'A’s submitted materials did not substantiate the claim.
Previously, NJZ members had also spoken out and said, "We witnessed our managers and performance directors crying after being subjected to serious harassment by ADOR and HYBE, including having their laptops confiscated and being suddenly called in for questioning without prior notice. We find these actions toward the remaining staff members extremely difficult to accept."
ADOR refuted these claims and said, "The employee responsible for NewJeans' management (A) directly contacted advertisers and attempted to bypass the company by facilitating direct contracts between the artists and brands. 'A' has already admitted to engaging in this type of communication. This constitutes a serious breach of contract, as it actively aids in violating the artists' exclusive agreements."
ADOR added, "Due to these actions, the company had no choice but to suspend 'A' from work and request the return of a company-owned laptop. At no point did we engage in illegal confinement or coercive actions. We made multiple requests to meet and allow 'A' to explain their side, but 'A' refused every time."
Following the latest update on the NJZ-ADOR feud, Korean netizens left comments on various articles about this topic. They criticized NJZ and Min Hee Jin for making false claims and constantly exaggerating the situation. They commented:
"These kids are so naive and clueless about the world. They whine like they're fighting for social justice just because they're celebrities. Ugh."
"I hope NewJeans gets hit with a penalty fee bomb and disappears for good~~"
"The company picks them, trains them, buys their songs and dances, pays for their dorms, gets them ads... They haven’t done anything themselves but keep saying 'We're going to do our own music~ with CEO (Min Hee Jin)' like they’re in a fairyland. That’s laughable."
"They were caught lying again~ It's time to pay the penalty fees."
"Bye NewJeans. Later, you might say you were young and didn’t know better, but not everyone is like you just because they’re young and naive. If you had just stayed quiet, you might have had a chance, but you got caught up in Min Hee Jin’s mess. Tsk tsk."
"It seems everything they say is just lies."
"I feel like they're going to blame their parents and Min Hee Jin later once they start to realize things..."
"When will Min Hee Jin and her crew stop lying?"
"I wonder if NJZ used this as a noise marketing tactic when they knew ADOR would be cleared of allegations..."
"They were caught trying to form contracts with brands outside of ADOR so they lied ADOR confined them."
"Wow... lying again..."
