NewJeans announced they have rebranded themselves as NJZ and confirmed the news through their first livestream under a new name.
NewJeans' name change was made official through an announcement by 'ComplexCon Hong Kong 2025' on February 7 KST. The music festival confirmed that NewJeans would be headlining the event with their new name NJZ.
On the same day, the members also confirmed through their first livestream under the name NJZ. The girls kicked off the Instagram live by introducing themselves saying, "Hi, we're NJZ."
NJZ explained that the newly released concept photos are related to the concept of their new song, which will be revealed during their upcoming performance. The girls also explained that they decided to announce their new name on February 7, which is their debut date (July 22) flipped backward.
Not only that, NJZ shared with fans they will be returning with a completely new vibe and will try out concepts they haven't before. They also reassured fans not to worry because they will be getting a new agency soon and the fandom name would remain as "Bunnies."
Following the latest Livestream, fans and Korean netizens have become excited about NJZ's future and gathered in a popular online community to show their support for the group. They commented:
