Singer Hwanhee has announced legal action against media outlets raising suspicions about the fairness of 'The Best K-Trot Singer'.
On the 18th, Hwanhee’s agency, BT Entertainment, posted an official statement on his fan cafe, stating, "We have recently informed you that we will take strong legal action against distorted articles about Hwanhee."
The agency further explained, "Due to articles that misrepresent the truth, Hwanhee, who is dedicating himself to the program at this very moment, is suffering great damage. These articles are also causing distress to his loyal fans who support him." They continued, "We would like to inform you that we submitted a complaint last week based on all the evidence and supporting materials."
The agency also affirmed its intention to actively respond to any further damages that may arise.
Last month, on the 23rd, a media outlet reported that a performance planning company, where the CEO of Hwanhee’s agency serves as a director, had invested a large sum of money into the follow-up performances of 'The Best K-Trot Singer', raising suspicions that the program was providing special support to Hwanhee.
In response, Hwanhee’s agency denied the allegations, asserting that the performance planning company and the event in question were unrelated.
At the time, the agency criticized the media’s claims, stating, "They are creating an unfair connection between unrelated facts that lack both temporal and logical links. These claims, made without even undergoing basic verification procedures, unfairly cast doubt on the fairness of the program."
