Choi Woo Sik has once again teamed up with writer Lee Na Eun, following their successful collaboration on ‘Our Beloved Summer,’ for the upcoming Netflix romance drama ‘Melo Movie.’.

At the press conference held on February 12th KST at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul, Choi shared his excitement about joining the project, saying, “I felt like this would be a place where I could be happy.”

In ‘Melo Movie,’ he plays Go Gyeom, an aspiring actor who eventually becomes a film critic. On working with Lee Na Eun again, he remarked, “I love the way she writes, and since we’ve worked together before, I knew the charm of her scripts. The story resonated with me, and it fit perfectly with the kind of projects I’ve been wanting to do—ones that allow me to enjoy the process of growth and moving forward.”

He also praised director Oh Choong Hwan (‘Hotel Del Luna,’ ‘Start-Up’) and his co-star Park Bo Young, saying, “I heard nothing but great things about director Oh from all directions, and I had also heard wonderful things about Bo Young as an actress. That made me feel even more certain that this project would be a happy experience—and it really was.”

When asked about the difference between ‘Our Beloved Summer’’s Choi Woong and ‘Melo Movie’’s Go Gyeom, Choi humorously explained it in MBTI terms, saying, “It’s like the difference between an I (introvert) and an E (extrovert). Choi Woong was more reserved and inward-focused, while Go Gyeom is outgoing, seeks help from those around him when struggling, and faces challenges head-on. He’s a capital E.”

‘Melo Movie’ is a romance drama that portrays the film-like journey of young adults navigating love, dreams, and personal struggles while finding inspiration in one another. With director Oh Choong Hwan’s distinctive touch and writer Lee Na Eun’s proven talent in youth romance (‘Our Beloved Summer’), the series is already generating significant buzz.
