BLACKPINK member Jisoo unveiled her new mini-album ‘AMORTAGE' on February 14 at 2 PM KST. This marks her first solo project in nearly two years since the release of her single ‘ME’ in March 2023.
The title ‘AMORTAGE' is a combination of the Spanish word for love, ‘Amor,’ and ‘Montage,’ a filmmaking technique that assembles various scenes to convey meaning. This fusion reflects the album’s artistic approach to storytelling through music.
The album features a total of four tracks. The Korean songs include the title track ‘Earthquake’ and ‘Tears,’ while the English tracks are ‘Your Love’ and ‘Hugs & Kisses.’ Jisoo actively participated in creating all songs, showcasing her musical talents and creative input.
The title track ‘Earthquake’ captures the excitement and intense emotions of falling in love, while ‘Tears’ portrays the struggle of maintaining a cheerful facade despite heartbreak. Overall, the album delves deeply into themes of love and separation, earning praise for its emotional depth and artistic expression.
Jisoo will host a special fan event, ‘Soo In Love,’ at CGV Cheongdam CineCity in Seoul to celebrate the release. Additionally, she is set to embark on a fan meeting tour across seven major Asian cities, including Manila in the Philippines, Bangkok in Thailand, and Tokyo in Japan.
