Actress Kim Sae Ron’s sudden passing has shocked many, and her close friend, AKMU’s Suhyun, visited the funeral hall to pay her final respects.
On February 17, a memorial was set up at the Seoul Asan Medical Center funeral hall in Pungnap-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, for the late Kim Sae Ron. The funeral proceedings are being held privately in a quiet atmosphere. A representative from Kim Sae Ron’s side stated, "The bereaved family does not wish for media coverage of visitors."
On this day, several close colleagues, including actors Won Bin, Han So Hee, and Kim Bo Ra, visited the memorial. Notably, AKMU’s Suhyun and her older brother Chanhyuk also came to bid farewell to the late actress.
Suhyun and Kim Sae Ron developed a close friendship while they were both under YG Entertainment and remained best friends for years. They were frequently seen together on broadcasts and even appeared on the 2021 JTBC variety show, 'Long Live Independence,' which showcased their strong bond.
At the time, Suhyun shared, "We’ve been close for about four to five years. I often meet up with Kim Sae Ron and Kim Bora without needing to make plans." She added, "We were so close that we even shared our home door passcodes in a group chat."
She also described their dynamic, saying, "When they visit my house, Kim Bo Ra cleans and sorts recycling, Kim Sae Ron cooks, and I just relax like a lazy grasshopper."
Their close friendship was also evident on social media, where they frequently posted photos together. In 2018, Kim Sae Ron nominated Suhyun for the Ice Bucket Challenge, which led her to participate. Additionally, they shared a travel vlog of a trip to Japan with actress Kim Bo Ra through Suhyun’s personal YouTube channel.
Although Suhyun did not publicly express her grief on social media before visiting the funeral hall, news of her immediate attendance at the service has only deepened the sorrow of fans.
Meanwhile, Kim Sae Ron was found deceased in her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, at approximately 4:45 PM on the 16th. With no signs of external intrusion, authorities suspect she took her own life. No suicide note was found. She was 24 years old.
Kim Sae Ron’s funeral is being held at Seoul Asan Medical Center, and the burial service is scheduled for 6:20 AM on February 19.
