On January 10, a video titled “Not My Vlog, but Song Hye Kyo’s Vlog...” was uploaded to Kang Min Kyung's YouTube channel 'Kyang Ming Kyung.' The video showcased a variety of moments from Song Hye Kyo’s daily life, capturing viewers' attention.
In the vlog, Song Hye Kyo celebrated her birthday with close acquaintances, including Kang Min Kyung, her agency’s CEO, and her stylist. While enjoying hot pot at her friend’s house, Kang Min Kyung asked if there were any heartwarming stories about Song Hye Kyo.
The agency CEO shared, "I’ve known Hye Kyo since she was 19. There’s one unforgettable incident. Hye Kyo was set to appear in a film directed by John Woo, and she was supposed to attend the Cannes Film Festival with actor Chang Chen and the director to announce it. However, just as everything was ready, an issue arose with the original work, causing conflict between the film and TV versions, and the director decided to drop the film altogether."
He continued, "I didn’t know what to do. I felt so sorry and didn’t know how to break the news to her—it was agonizing. But when I told her, she just said, ‘Okay, I understand.’ That same evening, she invited me over. When I walked in, there was a bottle of champagne on the table with a Post-it note that said, ‘Stay strong, unnie.’ In this industry, unexpected events happen all the time, but despite being younger than me, she often handled things with the grace of a senior. She’s incredibly composed and generous."
The stylist who has worked with Song Hye Kyo for over 20 years also shared a touching story, "When I was young—about 22 or 23—I wasn’t making much money, had no savings, and was struggling, living in a small Goshiwon (a type of boarding house). While working, I got a call saying my mom was sick. I decided I couldn’t continue working and needed to go home to help, so I quickly left without even telling Hye Kyo unnie. But when I checked my bank account, I found a huge sum of money that I couldn’t have even imagined."
She continued, "The head coordinator told me that Hye Kyo had asked them to transfer the money to me. The amount wasn’t what mattered—it was what Hye Kyo unnie said to me back then that I still think about sometimes, ‘I’m sorry that all I can give you is money. I wish I could be there with you.’ I cried so much from the bottom of my heart back then."
