Singer-songwriter Roy Kim recently fulfilled a lifelong dream by performing alongside his musical idol, Damien Rice.

On January 15th KST, during the ‘Damien Rice 2025 Tour in Seoul’ held at Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, Roy Kim made a surprise appearance during the concert’s finale. Accompanying Damien Rice on guitar, he performed a heartfelt rendition of “I Remember.”

Before the show, Roy Kim joined Damien Rice in an impromptu jam session near Hongdae. Videos of this session spread rapidly on social media, drawing significant attention from music fans. Inspired by their chemistry, Damien Rice extended an on-the-spot invitation to Roy Kim to join him on stage, leading to the memorable collaboration.

Reflecting on the experience, Roy Kim shared on his official account, “For countless nights, his music has comforted me. To have spoken with him, shared drinks, and sung together feels like a dream. Meeting him was everything I had imagined and more, and I’ll cherish this memory forever.”

He continued, “Once again, he saves me. He reminds me that at the core of everything is love. Though he called me a friend, to me, Damien will always be my hero. My goal is to live in a way that allows me to be that kind of hero for someone else.”
