The much-anticipated '2024 MBC Drama Awards' will be broadcast on the evening of January 5, as confirmed by OSEN on the 2nd. 

The show will feature a pre-recorded ceremony held on December 30, which was postponed from its original live broadcast due to unforeseen circumstances. All eyes are now on the announcement of the Grand Prize winner.

This year, MBC has reasserted its reputation as a leading drama powerhouse among South Korea’s major broadcasting networks. Lee Hanee's 'Knight Flower' captivated audiences with ratings exceeding 18%, while Han Suk Kyu delivered a gripping performance in 'Doubt', earning acclaim as a hallmark of high-quality production. 

Meanwhile, Yoo Yeon Seok currently stars in the ongoing drama 'When the Phone Rings', showcasing a masterful depiction of mature romance. With such standout performances, the three actors are widely regarded as frontrunners for the evening’s top honor.

Originally slated for live broadcast on December 30, the ceremony was postponed due to the tragic Jeju Air passenger plane incident at Muan Airport. While the awards proceeded as scheduled, MBC opted to air the ceremony later out of respect for the national mourning period.
