Defconn, well-known as both a singer and broadcaster, has revealed his sleek new look after successfully losing weight.
On January 13, Defconn shared several photos on Instagram with the caption, “MY NEW PROFILE.” Alongside the photos, he expressed his determination for the year ahead, writing, “Starting this year with renewed focus to work even harder,” and, “Celebrating my weight loss with a fresh new style.” He added, “As a broadcaster and host, I’ll continue striving to bring even more joy and laughter to my audience!”
The photos showcase Defconn’s significantly slimmer figure, emphasizing the dramatic transformation.
Defconn's weight loss journey comes after news of his former groupmate, Jung Hyung Don—who performed alongside him in the duo Hyungdon and Daejune—successfully shedding 21 kgs (46.2 pounds). Last June, Defconn revealed that he had achieved an impressive weight loss of 30 kgs (66 pounds) by following a one-meal-a-day diet.
Defconn revealed his weight-loss strategy lies in the “one-meal-a-day” diet, which focuses on maintaining a fasting state to regulate insulin levels and burn fat more efficiently. Under normal conditions, the body prioritizes burning glucose for energy, as fat is reserved as a critical survival resource. However, when insulin levels drop due to fasting, the body begins using fat as its primary energy source instead.
Sustaining a fasting state lowers blood sugar levels and reduces insulin secretion, enabling faster fat burning. Combining this with aerobic exercise further enhances the process, promoting more effective and sustained weight loss.
Korean netizens were impressed and simultaneously shocked by Defconn's weight loss. They praised the rapper for losing weight to maintain his health but were shocked by his loss of 30 kg. They commented:
"He looks healthier."
"Good."
"He doesn't look like Defconn."
"Wow. 30 kg??"
