As of 3:45 PM, December 22, the R-19 film ‘Hidden Face’, has surpassed 1 million viewers in the local box office. It becomes the first R-rated film in five years to do so, breaking the slump of R-rated films in Korea.
The last R-rated film to do so was the 2019 crime thriller ‘Tazza: One Eyed Jack’, an installment of the popular ‘Tazza’ film series.
Starring Song Seung Heon, Cho Yeo Jeong, and Park Ji Hyun, ‘Hidden Face’ tells the story of music conductor Seong Jin, who falls for cellist Mi Joo amid his devastation from the disappearance of his cellist fiancée Soo Yeon.
Released on November 20, it is currently showing in theaters.
