NewJeans to appear on ‘Kim Hyun Jung’s News Show’
The girl group NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) is set to appear on 'Kim Hyun Jung’s News Show'.
On December 24th KST, the CBS Standard FM program announced NewJeans’ appearance.
At the end of the broadcast, Kim Hyun Jung shared, “Tomorrow is a Christmas special. In the first part, we’ll deliver live news as usual, and in the second part, we’ll bring you a mini-concert with five young ladies: Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein. See you tomorrow.” Interestingly, she referred to the group members by their names instead of the team name, NewJeans.
'Kim Hyun Jung’s News Show' previously featured Min Hee Jin, the former CEO of ADOR, in April. At that time, Min Hee Jin commented, “I don’t want to speak negatively about HYBE intentionally, but it’s frightening how power can be wielded to frame perspectives for specific purposes.” She added, “It’s shocking how a person can be completely undermined in such a deliberate manner. Even without wrongdoing, once a certain angle is scrutinized, something is bound to be found.”
This appearance comes after NewJeans announced at an emergency press conference on November 28th that they would no longer continue activities under ADOR, citing unresolved contract violations. They stated that their exclusive contract would be terminated as of midnight on November 29th.
Regarding their group name, NewJeans shared, “As of midnight, we may no longer be able to use the name NewJeans for the time being. However, the essence of who we are will remain unchanged. We will not give up on the name NewJeans and will work to fully secure its rights.”
In response, ADOR released an official statement on December 5th, saying, “On December 3rd, we filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Central District Court to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract with NewJeans. ADOR’s stance of wanting to work with NewJeans remains unchanged, and we will continue to make every effort to resolve any misunderstandings.”
