Late actor Song Jae Rim’s past appearances resurface after his sudden passing.
As the news of actor Song Jae Rim’s untimely passing on November 12th KST brings sadness to fans and colleagues, his past appearances on various television shows are being remembered fondly.
Known for his deep family bonds, Song Jae Rim once spoke of his commitment to his family on KBS 2TV’s ‘Problem Child in House’ in December last year, where he revealed that he had gifted his younger sister 40 million KRW (approximately 28,000 USD) for her wedding. Song humorously added, “I told her, ‘I’ll give this to you in place of our parents, so don’t touch their money,’ but apparently she took it anyway.” His playful words were a testament to his genuine affection for his family.
In September 2022, on ‘Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant’, Song shared his thrifty habits, saying, “I’ve kept a ledger since 2005. When I was younger, I had to save money, and tracking my spending helped me save.” He explained that he started working early to support his family, adding, “My sister and I attended college together, which was a burden on our family. I decided to help her graduate first before returning to school myself.” Song used his earnings from acting to support his family, including buying a home, helping his parents with rent, and assisting with his sister’s wedding expenses, touching the hearts of viewers.
Born in 1985, Song Jae Rim made his debut in 2011 with tvN’s ‘Flower Boy Ramen Shop’ and went on to star in popular series like MBC’s ‘The Moon Embracing the Sun’, MBC’s ‘Two Weeks’, KBS 2TV’s ‘Inspiring Generation’, and tvN’s ‘Surplus Princess’. His last work was the play ‘The Rose of Versailles’, which concluded on October 13th. Notably, his social media bio now reads “Starting a long journey,” evoking a sense of poignant farewell.
