Former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin may lose her home due to it being seized following a provisional seizure order.
According to TenAsia’s report on November 11, Min Hee Jin was notified in September by the court of a provisional seizure order on her current home in Yeonnam-dong, Seoul, for 100 million KRW (~71,350 USD).
TenAsia exclusively confirmed that the creditor is a former ADOR employee, referred to as "A," who filed a lawsuit against Min Hee Jin in August with the Mapo Police Station for defamation and violations of the Personal Information Protection Act. "A" also reported Min Hee Jin and ADOR’s deputy CEO, "B," to the Seoul West District Office of Employment and Labor for unfair labor practices and inadequate employee relations management.
This provisional seizure is a follow-up action to A’s civil suit filed against Min Hee Jin for damages of 100 million KRW, alleging defamation through false information. A legal representative told TenAsia, “'A' is pursuing a civil damages lawsuit against Min Hee Jin. The provisional seizure was issued to secure payment ability for the claim.”
A provisional seizure is a legal process where a creditor temporarily seizes a debtor’s assets to ensure debt repayment. "A" reportedly took this measure to secure a smooth legal process for potential damages. If Min Hee Jin is found liable in the civil suit, she must compensate, and failure to do so could result in the disposal of her seized assets.
Korean netizens have given mixed reactions to this latest update on Min Hee Jin with many supporting the ex-employee. Korean netizens commented:
"Min Hee Jin should apologize to the victim for this one."
"Min Hee Jin fighting!"
"It makes no sense that Min Hee Jin would lose her home just because of 100 million KRW when her salary is more than that."
"I hope the victim wins this lawsuit."
"There's something weird about this. Something seems strange about the victim. Instead of going after the company HYBE, she's so focused on exploiting one person's weakness to ruin them. Seems like HYBE and the employee has some kind of agreement behind doors."
"Something seems fishy."
"I hope Min Hee Jin wins against HYBE, and the victim wins against Min Hee Jin. They should just all win against HYBE."
"When was the ex-employee sexually harassed?"
"I support the victim."
"I know justice will prevail."
"I hope there are good results from this."
