At this year’s MAMA awards, BTS’s Jimin achieved an impressive feat by winning the Fans’ Choice Award (Daesang), even while the artist himself is currently serving in the military. It’s also the first time a soloist has won this award since BIGBANG’s Taeyang did so in 2014.
Jimin made his comeback this year with the album ‘MUSE’ and title track ‘Who,’ all while enlisted in the military.
To thank fans for their incredible commitment and effort, Jimin posted a heartfelt message on WeVerse today.
“Dear ARMYs, I’ve come back here after hearing some truly amazing news.
Even though I’m in the military, I’ve received a daesang…
How did you send me such an incredible gift like this?
I am overwhelmed with gratitude.
I’ve been talking a lot with Jungkook these days.
We’ve been so excited to discuss what kind of music we should prepare for you and what kind of performances we should show you, after we're discharged from the military. And now, receiving such a huge award has left me even more stunned.
Totally stunned
Stunned, stunned, stunned, stunned, stunned.
…
Thank you so much, everyone.
If the day arrives when I can pay you back, the best gift will be to show you the greatest performance I can.
It goes without saying, but I’ll come back even stronger and show you a better version of myself. Please look forward to it.
I love you ARMYs."
