BTOB’s Lee Chang Sub faces malicious rumors regarding his solo concert tour, prompting legal action from agency Fantagio.
On November 5 KST, Fantagio issued a statement on their official social media, addressing the controversy over the omission of “Gwangju” in the initial preview image for Changsub’s solo concert tour. They clarified, “An image excluding ‘Gwangju’ was mistakenly uploaded on October 31, but we corrected and re-uploaded the updated image on November 1.”
The agency took responsibility, stating, “This oversight was clearly our fault due to inadequate quality control. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and disappointment caused by the delay in addressing this issue.”
Additionally, Fantagio explained, “Apart from this, we have been monitoring for defamation and confirmed numerous malicious rumors and defamatory posts about our artist on online communities, social media, and websites. These actions have continued to harm the artist’s image and reputation.”
Fantagio emphasized their strict stance: “We have gathered evidence of these illegal activities, including slander, defamation, and false information, and filed legal complaints. To protect our artist, we will take strong legal measures without any leniency or settlements.”
Changsub’s solo concert tour, "The Wayfarer", begins on November 30 KST, with stops in Seoul, Gwangju, Busan, Daegu, Suwon, and Cheongju. The initial image excluding Gwangju sparked malicious rumors online, particularly from far-right sites, prompting the agency’s strong response.
