According to an exclusive media outlet report on October 24 KST, Son Ye Jin and Ji Chang Wook have been offered roles in a drama remake of the hit 2003 film 'Untold Scandal', directed by E J-yong.
Inspired by the storyline of the French novel Dangerous Liaisons by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, 'Untold Scandal' tells the story of a powerful aristocrat, Lady Jo (originally played by Lee Mi Sook), and a playboy, Jo Won (originally played by Bae Yong Joon), who team up to seduce and corrupt the young, chaste maiden, Lady Suk (originally played by Jeon Do Yeon). Upon its release in 2003, the historical romance film attracted over 3 million moviegoers in South Korea, despite being unrated for its sexual content.
In the drama remake, produced by Netflix, Son Ye Jin is in talks to star as Lady Jo, while Ji Chang Wook has been offered a role as Jo Won.
The news of an 'Untold Scandal' remake is currently receiving mixed reactions from netizens, who raised concerns over the highly sexual content of the original film. Notably, the drama remake will be directed by E J-yong, known for his highly-rated films like 'Eungyo' (2012) and 'Somebody' (2022).
Meanwhile, filming for the drama remake is reportedly scheduled to begin in March of next year.
