It has been 5 years since the passing of former f(x) member Sulli (real name Choi Jin Ri).
Sulli, who debuted as a child actress in the 2005 SBS drama 'Ballad of Seodong' and as a member of the group f(x) in 2009, was found dead at her home in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, on October 14th, 2019. She was 25 years old.
On the day of her passing, her manager, unable to reach her despite scheduled recording activities, visited her home and found her. Although police and paramedics were dispatched, she had already passed away.
Her sudden death shocked many, especially since she had filming scheduled for the day and had been working on an advertisement shoot the day before. The entertainment industry was plunged into grief, postponing events and paying tribute to her memory.
Five years later, many still express their sorrow and longing through comments on Sulli's social media, showing how deeply she is missed.
Last November, Sulli’s posthumous work ‘Persona: Sulli’ was released, four years after her passing, further fueling the sense of loss.
Director Jung Yoon Suk, who directed the segment titled 'Dear Jinri,' recalled, "I tried to view her as an artist. I believed there was a reason behind her demeanor and her silence. During filming, I waited for her thoughts to settle and gave her time to answer without forcing anything."
During her lifetime, Sulli endured both great love and overwhelming attention, as well as excessive malicious comments. Even today, many continue to remember and mourn her, forever preserving her in their hearts as the 25-year-old they loved and admired.
