Lee Seung Gi’s recent shaved-head transformation has captured fans’ attention.
On October 29th, Lotte Entertainment announced that the film 'The Extended Family,' starring Lee Seung Gi and Kim Yoon Seok, will premiere on December 11th, accompanied by a teaser poster and trailer.
In the film, Kim Yoon Seok plays Ham Moo Ok, the head of a longstanding dumpling restaurant, 'Pyung Man Ok,' while Lee Seung Gi takes on the role of his son, Ham Moon Seok, who becomes a monk. 'The Extended Family' follows the unexpected cohabitation that ensues when the grandchildren arrive, disrupting the family’s legacy.
The teaser poster reveals Kim Yoon Seok meticulously crafting dumplings, along with the humorous tagline, “Will the 38-year dumpling dynasty continue or crumble?” The teaser trailer offers a glimpse into the bustling daily life of the dumpling shop, and features Lee Seung Gi’s character, now a monk, broadcasting live on-air—only to discover that his child has come looking for him, setting off a series of twists.
Directed by Yang Woo Seok, known for 'The Attorney' and 'Steel Rain,' the film brings together a stellar cast, including Lee Soon Jae, Kim Sung Ryung, Kang Han Na, and Park Soo Young, increasing anticipation.
Lee Seung Gi first surprised fans with his shaved head at the 2022 KBS Drama Awards, clarifying it was for this role rather than a personal change.
