Amid revelations concerning Triple Star (real name Kang Seung Won), who recently finished third on Netflix’s survival show 'Culinary Class Wars,' his ex-wife, referred to as "A," has come forward with allegations about their personal and financial disputes.
On October 30, YouTube reporter Lee Jin Ho released a video titled, “Why is the Ex-Wife Who Supported Triple Star So Angry? Full Story of Triple Star’s Past Exposed.”
In the video, the YouTuber outlined two primary reasons behind the ex-wife’s unexpected revelations. The first involved alleged threats and curses from Triple Star directed at 'A' and her new partner, who was also an acquaintance of his. According to the YouTuber, after discovering his ex-wife's new relationship, Triple Star began harassing the two, prompting her to come forward to protect herself and her partner.
The ex-wife further asserted that she had recently overheard Triple Star claiming they divorced due to her alleged infidelity, which prompted her to disclose what she described as the real reason for their separation.
In addition, the YouTuber addressed Triple Star’s alleged “two-timing” controversy. Reportedly, in August 2022, Triple Star ended things with another former partner, "B," to reconcile with 'A,' but 'A' and B later discovered discrepancies in the timeline he had shared, revealing he had been romantically involved with 'B' for over four months, overlapping with his reconciliation attempts with 'A.'
The YouTuber also shed light on the financial strain of their relationship. The ex-wife claimed to have spent over 400 million KRW (about $300,000) over their 10-year relationship, as well as preparing a high-end rental property for 3.7 billion KRW ($2.7 million) on her own for their marriage.
'A’s family also invested 150 million KRW ($110,000) in Triple Star’s restaurant, which later faced financial trouble, and she claimed that Triple Star secretly sent some of the restaurant funds to his own parents. This financial strain reportedly led to a total breakdown in their relationship.
On the same day, 'Dispatch' released a detailed report based on accounts from 'A' and 'B,' covering various allegations about Triple Star’s personal life and accusations of employment bribery. According to the report, Triple Star met his ex-wife in 2014 while studying at a culinary school in the U.S., and the two had an on-and-off relationship until they married in May 2022. They divorced three months later, and without formal registration, their marriage was technically a common-law partnership. The ex-wife claimed she had gifted luxury Chanel bags to a contact to help secure Triple Star’s job at a Michelin-starred restaurant.
The ex-wife also revealed multiple pages of handwritten apologies from Triple Star. In one note, he allegedly wrote, "I secretly watched a woman in revealing clothing sitting alone at a table via the CCTV in a dark storage room," adding, "I am trash. I have inappropriate desires and hurt someone who showed me immense love."
The most shocking claim involved Triple Star purportedly admitting to encouraging the ex-wife to sleep with another man for his own gratification. Triple Star has denied these allegations.
Following the release of these revelations, Triple Star disabled comments on his social media. Netflix stated they are unable to comment on reports involving cast members’ personal lives and requested understanding from the public.
