Belift Lab CEO to be summoned at the The National Assembly audit

The National Assembly's Culture, Sports, and Tourism Committee has voted to call Kim Tae-ho, HYBE's Chief Operating Officer (COO) / Belift Lab (CEO), as a witness for the comprehensive state audit on the 24th. Hanni, a member of girl group NewJeans, who is in a dispute with HYBE, is scheduled to appear at the National Assembly Environment and Labor Committee audit on the 15th.

The National Assembly Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee held a plenary session during the state audit at the National Assembly main building in Yeouido, Seoul on the 10th and adopted a list of witnesses and reference persons to appear at the state audit scheduled to be held on the 22nd and 24th.

Kim Tae-ho, Chief Operating Officer of HYBE, was selected as a witness for the comprehensive national audit on the 24th at the request of the office of Min Hyung-bae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea who is a member of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee. He is scheduled to be questioned about current issues of the entertainment company, such as the treatment of artists due to the management rights dispute between HYBE and ADOR, the agency of girl group 'New Jeans', which has been controversial until recently.

On the 2nd, the NewJeans fandom launched a so-called 'total attack' by sending faxes and emails to members of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, requesting that HYBE's executives, including HYBE's Chairman Bang Si-hyuk, HYBE's CEO Lee Jae-sang, and HYBE’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CCO) Park Tae-hee, be added to the list of witnesses for the state audit.

At the time, the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee was of the opinion that it would not call HYBE officials as witnesses, saying, "It is too sensitive an issue for the National Assembly to intervene as the related lawsuit is still in progress." However, as the situation changed with New Jeans member Hanni expressing her intention to attend the National Assembly inspection ahead of the vote on the witness application, it is understood that the decision changed in the direction of "There is no reason not to call the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee."

Meanwhile, Hanni is scheduled to attend the National Assembly Environment and Labor Committee Economic, Social and Labor Committee (ESLC) and the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s affiliated organizations audit on the 15th. On the 9th, Hanni said through the fan communication platform ‘Phoning’, “I’ve decided. I’m going to the National Assembly. I’m going to the audit alone.” She continued, “Don’t worry. I decided to go for myself, my members, and Bunnie’s (fandom name).”
