Girls’ Generation’s Sunny shares a welcomed update.

On September 24th KST, fellow Girls’ Generation member Hyoyeon posted a challenge video for her upcoming song “Retro Romance”. In the video, she was joined by Sunny, drawing attention from fans. Sunny appeared with newly dyed black hair and a radiant appearance, her first in a while. The two showcased key dance moves, delighting viewers.

Fans couldn’t hide their excitement at Sunny’s long-awaited update, leaving comments such as, “We missed you,” “SNSD forever,” and “Welcome back from abroad!”

Last month, Girls’ Generation celebrated their 17th debut anniversary. The members posted a group photo dressed in white, sparking a lot of interest. However, Sunny was notably absent, leaving fans curious.

On the same day, Sunny posted a Photoshopped version of the group photo to celebrate the anniversary. She explained, “I was across the Pacific, so unfortunately I couldn’t physically be there,” adding that Seohyun had done the photo editing for her.

Fellow member Tiffany commented, “Happy 17th anniversary to us. I love you, just the way we are,” while Sooyoung wrote, “Sunny, I miss you,” showing their continued strong bond.

Last August, Sunny left SM Entertainment, the agency she had been with since Girls’ Generation’s debut. At the time, she explained, “I’m taking a courageous step to view myself from a different perspective in a new environment.”

Now, more than a year later, Sunny remains without an agency. Fans are eagerly watching to see what her next steps will be.
