The police are set to summon BTS member Suga for questioning regarding allegations of riding an electric scooter while under the influence of alcohol.
On the 11th, sources from the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul confirmed plans to formally summon Suga, coordinating the date of his appearance. They believe it is necessary to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and the amount of alcohol he consumed.
On the evening of August 6, Suga reportedly fell off an electric scooter near his home in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu. A patrolling police officer discovered him and administered a breathalyzer test, which revealed a blood alcohol content of 0.227%, well above the license revocation threshold of 0.08%.
At the time, the police did not recognize Suga as a member of BTS. Due to his intoxicated state, they were unable to conduct a thorough investigation, limiting their actions to the breathalyzer test before sending him home. As a result, the police now plan to summon him for additional questioning and to obtain a formal statement.
Suga began his mandatory military service in March, entering the Nonsan Training Center in South Chungcheong Province for basic training. He is currently serving as a social service worker, with a discharge date set for June 2025.
