Lee Hyori and her husband Lee Sang Soon have purchased a new home in Seoul's Pyeongchang-dong neighborhood.
According to the property registry, the couple purchased a single-family home and an adjacent plot of land in Pyeongchang-dong last August for 6.005 billion KRW (over $4.53 million USD), paying the entire amount in cash.
The house, which consists of a basement and two above-ground floors, covers a total area of approximately 100 pyeong (about 3,558 square feet). It is currently undergoing interior renovations as the couple prepares their move.
Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon previously announced they would be moving to Seoul after living in Jeju for 11 years, delivering the news via their YouTube channel. Last month, Lee Hyori also mentioned the move to Park Myung Soo, appearing on his own YouTube channel and saying, "I’ll have a busy schedule when I’m in Seoul," but also expressing her sadness about leaving Jeju. "As soon as I decided to move, I felt sad for a month. Everything—the birds chirping, the forest, the sea—became so precious to me," she commented.
Lee Sang Soon also appeared on Yoo Jae Suk's YouTube channel, commenting about the move with "We’ve lived in Jeju for 11 years, and we decided to move to Seoul because we want to work hard and live more actively, but we’ll always miss Jeju." He added that they had rented out their Jeju home to a friend and that they plan to move to Seoul in September after completing the necessary interior work.
Meanwhile, Pyeongchang-dong is located near Bukhan Mountain and is known as one of South Korea's top affluent neighborhoods. It is home to many government officials and power figures, as well as celebrities like actors Choi Soo Jong and Ha Hee Ra, Yoo Hae Jin, Kim Hye Soo, and singers Seo Taiji and Yoon Jong Shin.
