Popular travel YouTuber "GwakTube" (Gwak Jun-bin) has signed an exclusive contract with SM C&C, joining the ranks of famous entertainers and actors under the management company.
On the 15th, SM C&C announced, "Travel specialist creator Gwak Jun-bin, considered the number one choice for TV appearances, has signed an exclusive contract with SM C&C." Gwak Jun-bin, who operates the travel YouTube channel "GwakTube" with 2.04 million subscribers, was previously affiliated with digital entertainment company Sandbox Network until last month. SM C&C houses numerous famous entertainers and actors in Korea.
Gwak Jun-bin began his YouTube activities in 2018 and quickly grew his channel, surpassing 1 million subscribers in just three years. Alongside "Pani Bottle," the number one travel YouTuber in Korea, Gwak has solidified his position as a leading travel YouTuber.
Gwak has previously shared that he dropped out of high school due to severe bullying and led a reclusive life before starting his overseas travels, motivated by a desire to be in places without Koreans.
Known for his witty and entertaining style, Gwak's appearances on various YouTube channels have led to the creation of new slang terms among fans, such as "Gwak style" and "Junmyudenda" (falling for Jun-bin).
After making his television debut on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block" in 2023, Gwak has become a regular on shows like ENA's "World Travel on a Budget 1, 2," tvN's "Busan Boys in Sydney," EBS's "Gwak Jun-bin's Global Street Food 1, 2," MBN's "Jun Hyun-moo's Plan," and BC's "Crazy Super Koreans." His popularity soared, placing him second in Gallup Korea's survey of "Koreans' Favorite YouTubers" conducted from March 22 to April 5.
SM C&C is known for managing prominent figures like Kang Ho-dong, Jun Hyun-moo, and Seo Jang-hoon, as well as top Asian actors.
