NewJeans' 'Supernatural' rises on US Billboard charts

AKP STAFF

NewJeans' debut single in Japan, "Supernatural," has successfully landed on major US Billboard charts.

As of July 2 (local time), Billboard's latest charts (dated July 6) show "Supernatural" debuting at 14th place on the 'Global (excluding the US)' chart and 25th on the 'Global 200' chart. Another track from the single, "Right Now," also entered both charts, signaling a strong dual impact.

Additionally, the double single released in May, featuring the title track "How Sweet" and the B-side "Bubble Gum," has been performing well on the 'Global (excluding the US)' and 'Global 200' charts for five consecutive weeks. This success means that all four new songs from NewJeans are currently featured on Billboard's global song charts, demonstrating their worldwide popularity.

NewJeans' songs have seen a resurgence on major music charts in South Korea and Japan following their Tokyo Dome fan meeting. "Supernatural" reached the top of the Bugs real-time chart and peaked at 8th place on Melon's 'Top 100.' Despite the rarity of a Japanese single topping Korean music charts, "Supernatural" entered Melon's 'Top 100' at 34th place on its release day (June 21) and has been climbing steadily.

In Japan, "Supernatural" ranked 15th on Spotify Japan's 'Daily Top Songs' chart on July 1, with a total of 11 NewJeans songs featured on the chart. On Apple Music Japan's 'Top 100,' "How Sweet" and "Supernatural" placed 12th and 13th, respectively, among nine total NewJeans tracks.

The single "Supernatural" also made a strong debut on the Oricon 'Daily Single Ranking,' securing the top spot for three consecutive days (June 21-23), and achieved first place on the Line Music real-time and daily charts.

NewJeans attracted over 91,200 fans at their Tokyo Dome fan meeting "Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome" held on June 26-27. Their performance, featuring over 20 diverse stages, received praise from both fans and local media. The group continues their activities in Japan, including a live appearance on Fuji TV's "FNS Music Festival."
