BTS' Jin has been confirmed to carry the torch for the '2024 Paris Summer Olympics'.
Yesterday, Dispatch reported Jin would be participating as a torchbearer for the upcoming Olympics, and on July 3, Big Hit Music confirmed the reports. The label stated, "BTS' Jin will be a torchbearer for the Paris '2024 Paris Summer Olympics', which starts on July 27."
Though the specific schedule for the torch carrying has not been disclosed, Big Hit Music continued to state Jin is participating in the torch relay to spread a message of harmony and peace.
As previously reported, the Paris Olympic torch, lit in Greece, arrived in France last month. It will travel through over 400 locations, covering about 12,000 kilometers, before arriving at the opening ceremony on July 27. Around 11,000 torchbearers are participating, including Jin, notable athletes, Holocaust survivors, relatives of Nice terror attack victims, astronauts, and sanitation workers.
The '2024 Paris Summer Olympics' will run from July 27 to August 11, featuring over 15,000 athletes from 206 countries competing in 329 events across 32 sports. South Korea will send up to 142 athletes across 21 sports, and the Korean team’s send-off ceremony is scheduled for July 9.
