Singer Byul, the wife of singer and broadcaster HaHa, has announced that she will be taking a temporary break from her activities due to health concerns.
Byul shared the news through a heartfelt post on her social media, revealing that she has been diagnosed with shingles.
Byul began by describing the symptoms she first noticed. "I found a few blisters on my lips and around my eyes after attending a colleague's wedding. When I got home and cleansed my face, the blisters grew larger, spreading to my forehead, temples, and even my scalp. It hurt and throbbed, but strangely, it was only on one side of my face," she explained.
She then visited a hospital the next day, where she was diagnosed with shingles. "It was a scary diagnosis, and I learned that shingles on the face can be very dangerous. I immediately went to a university hospital for treatment, seeing both dermatology and ophthalmology specialists. I spent the entire week resting at home," Byul revealed.
Although her condition has improved, Byul still experiences nerve pain on the affected side of her face, which requires medication to help her sleep at night. "The recovery process varies, but the pain can persist for a while. I even had pain in my teeth and ears. Please don’t misunderstand if I look fine but still feel unwell," she added.
While Byul admitted that she doesn't like to share personal health issues publicly, she explained the reason behind her announcement: "I had to cancel scheduled appointments and couldn’t provide detailed explanations. I hope you understand that rest is essential for recovery, and I appreciate your patience."
Byul also mentioned the timing of the school break for her children, joking, "The kids are off school for six days, so it’s a bit of a relief."
She shared her plans for a short break from her YouTube channel, Byulbitube, with an upcoming official announcement. "I’ll be taking a week off to rest. Please understand," she said.
In closing, Byul urged her fans to take care of their health, "Shingles is tough, so please avoid it. Let's all stay healthy!"
Byul also reflected on her overworking, stating, "I regret not taking better care of my body, and I promise to rest and recover. Please don’t scold me too much. I’ll be back healthier soon."
