HYBE's subsidiary and LE SSERAFIM's agency, Source Music, have filed a lawsuit for damages against Min Hee Jin, the CEO of ADOR.
On the 15th, a Source Music representative confirmed to MyDaily, "It is true that Source Music has filed a lawsuit for damages against ADOR's CEO, Min Hee Jin." However, they did not disclose specific details, such as the reported amount of 500 million KRW (~361,399.65 USD).
The lawsuit from Source Music is based on three claims: first, that CEO Min Hee Jin directly cast the members of NewJeans; second, that she broke the promise to debut NewJeans as HYBE's first girl group; and third, that Source Music neglected the members of NewJeans.
In April, HYBE accused CEO Min Hee Jin of attempting to seize management control of ADOR and filed charges of breach of trust against her. In response, Min Hee Jin's team argued that it was impossible to seize control due to the share structure. It denied ever attempting or executing actions that would harm the company's value, rejecting the breach of trust allegations.
After completing her first summons investigation at the Seoul Yongsan Police Station on the 9th, CEO Min stated, "I told the truth. I feel relieved. The breach of trust accusation is a comedy."
K-netizens reacted:
"Everything Source Music does is so off-putting."
"I want to see the result. lol."
"Source wake up."
"This is so low of them."
"Why?"
"Why are they filing the lawsuit against ADOR."
"They are so stubborn."
"LE SSERAFIM's image was damaged because of the Coachella festival. Not because of anyone else."
"I hope HYBE would go under."
