Following director Shin Sung Hoon's cryptic messages alluding to suicide and his subsequent disappearance, his social media accounts have been made private, causing widespread concern.
On the morning of June 4, Light Culture House reported that Shin Sung Hoon had left a post hinting at suicide and had been missing for two days. His agency issued an urgent plea for assistance, stating, "We've been unable to reach the director, who has never been unreachable by phone for days. We're deeply concerned and in need of media assistance to locate him."
It's deeply unsettling to learn that Shin Sung Hoon had frequently confided in colleagues at his agency about the hardships of living a life filled with daily turmoil and the accumulation of emotional wounds from others, which he found difficult to articulate.

The sudden loss of contact has added to the collective sense of concern. In response, his agency expressed deep concern, saying, "It would be devastating to hear that he, who has struggled to achieve international recognition, has suddenly left us."
Meanwhile, 'Thank You, Jajangmyeon,' directed by Shin Sung Hoon, has amassed a remarkable 81 awards since October 2022, starting with the Best Director and Best Drama accolades at the Hollywood Bluebird Film Festival. This success has garnered significant global attention, serving as a testament to the impact of Korean cinema.
