TWICE's Dahyun has been cast as the female lead in the Korean remake of the popular Taiwanese film "You Are the Apple of My Eye," set to bring fresh energy to the beloved romantic story.
The original film, directed by Giddens Ko and released in Korea in 2012, captured the hearts of many with its poignant depiction of youthful romance and first love. It follows the story of a school troublemaker, Ko Ching-teng, and an honor student, Shen Chia-yi, whose relationship evolves from classmates to something more intimate over time.
Dahyun is set to portray the honor student, a character universally adored and initially watched over by her peers, mirroring Shen Chia-yi from the original. This role marks a significant step in Dahyun's acting career, as she takes on a character cherished by fans of the original film.
This casting decision comes shortly after Dahyun's first venture into acting was announced in the independent feature film "Sprint," where she stars alongside Ha Seok-jin and Lee Sin-young. In "Sprint," she challenges herself with the role of an athlete, adding a sports drama to her burgeoning acting portfolio.
The anticipation around Dahyun's transition from K-pop idol to actress continues to grow as she prepares to embrace this new role in a genre beloved by fans across Asia. With her debut in "Sprint" and now the lead in a youth romance, Dahyun is on her way to becoming a notable presence in the film industry.

I'm sooo happy for her!!
But her getting lead role just after debut doesn't sit right with me, I hope she does a very good job only that will protect her from getting hate.
