The fans cited a past interview video of Byun Woo Seok and Hyeri for their 2021 drama 'Moonshine', stating Hyeri was too comfortable with skinship with the rising actor. Some also criticized her for allegedly behaving too comfortably with Byun Woo Seok when she was dating Ryu Joon Yeol at the time.
