On April 17, more information about Kang Tae Oh and Lee Sun Bin's new drama was released.
"Potato Research Institute," a romantic comedy with a twist, follows the quirky journey of Kim Mi Kyung (played by Lee Sun Bin), a woman whose life unravels spectacularly—she loses both her love and her job. Seeking refuge, she escapes to her brother’s guesthouse and stumbles upon a job opportunity at the whimsically named 'Fairy Food Research Institute.' While working in the field one chilly day, Kim spots a lone potato seed on the frozen ground. Struck by a sudden epiphany about the parallels between her life and the resilient potato, she develops an all-consuming passion for these tubers. This newfound obsession marks the beginning of her amusing and heartwarming adventures.
Kang Tae Oh is expected to play a complete 180 opposite of his previous character as Lee Jun Ho in "Extraordinary Attorney Woo."
So Baek Ho (Kang Tae Oh), who is not interested with potatoes, will be appointed as the new director of the institute. He is a person with a killer smile, a soft voice, and divine visuals that you might see on the cover of a romance novel. However, unlike his extravagant appearance, he is simple in many ways and an outsider who can thrive on his own, with no personal life to speak of, no friends, and a bit of vulgarity.
Kim Mi Kyung is a character who at first bickers with So Baek Ho. They gradually become attracted to each other and end up having an in-office romance which she vowed never to do again.
The filming will start in the last week of May 2024. It is produced by CJ ENM and Chorokbaek Media (Park's Marriage Contract and Perfect Marriage Revenge). The 12-episode drama, with a runtime of 1 hours and 30 minutes, will air on tvN in the first half of 2015.
Yes, I'm pretty sure there will never be a season 2 of Extraordinary Attorney Woo.
