It was belatedly revealed that actress Park Soo Jin, wife of actor Bae Yong Joon, has terminated her contract with her agency some time ago. There are suggestions that she may be considering retiring from the entertainment industry, possibly in line with her husband's retirement from the industry.
On April 17, an official from KeyEast, Park Soo Jin's previous agency, informed Xports News, "Park Soo Jin is currently not under an exclusive contract with us. In fact, she has been inactive in the entertainment industry for several years, so her exclusive contract with KeyEast was terminated quite some time ago."
Park Soo Jin debuted in 2002 as a member of the group Sugar and later transitioned to acting after leaving the group. She married Bae Yong Joon in 2015, and the couple welcomed their first child, a son, in October 2016, and their second child, a daughter, in 2018.
Park Soo Jin continued to be active in the entertainment industry under the agency KeyEast, established by her husband Bae Yong Joon. Her last television appearance was on the entertainment show, 'Oksudong Successor' in 2016.
In 2018, Park Soo Jin faced criticism for allegedly taking an incubator from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of a Seoul general hospital during the birth of her second child. She later apologized through a handwritten letter, clarifying that it was a "rumor," and stated her judgment was being clouded due to a miscarriage.
After halting activities, Park Soo Jin briefly updated social media in 2020 and 2021; however, she did not resume her career in the entertainment industry.
In 2022, news emerged that she had immigrated to Hawaii with her family. Additionally, it was reported last January that after spending the end of the year in Korea with her two children, she returned to Hawaii.
After KeyEast sold its stake to SM Entertainment in 2018 and with Bae Yong Joon's official website domain expiring in 2022, there is growing speculation that both Bae Yong Joon and Park Soo Jin are effectively stepping back from their entertainment careers and naturally retiring from the industry.
She used to be fantastic in shows but she just followed the Korean actress pattern they all go for. Nothing unique or surprising about it. Just a shame they don't keep working like foreign actresses.
