Cha Eun Woo reflected on his emotions and shed tears as he spoke about his solo debut album 'ENTITY.'
Cha Eun Woo appeared as a special guest on the KBS 2TV music talk show 'The Seasons - Lee Hyori's Red Carpet' that aired on February 16.
On this day, Cha Eun Woo appeared on stage while singing his take on Lee Hyori's "10 Minutes" and immediately grabbed the audience's attention.
After his performances, Cha Eun Woo sat down with host Lee Hyori to talk deeper about his debut album 'ENTITY.' The singer revealed that he participated in the lyrics for all the tracks included in this album and shared that he didn't want to do too many promotional activities for it.
Cha Eun Woo revealed the reason, explaining, "The album title is 'ENTITY' and my real name is Dong Min, so I wanted to share my emotions and what I felt as 'Dong Min' in all honesty. This is a precious album that captures my heart."
He continued, "So sometimes, there are things you want to say and share in your heart but you feel cautious. I felt I wanted to prepare for this album even if I needed to sleep less and even if it takes time, I prepared this album with sincerity."
When Lee Hyori asked what was the reason he reached out to the show first, Cha Eun Woo revealed, "How should I explain it, I didn't want this album to feel commercial so when I was talking with my agency, I told them I didn't want to do anything that was too promotional. Of course, I would be happy if the album did well but I couldn't muster up the feeling of wanting to say 'Listen to my music, here listen to my music'."
When Lee Hyori asked, "Why?" Cha Eun Woo hesitated for a bit and continued, "Last year wasn't an easy year for me, personally. So yeah... I don't think I can continue..." Cha Eun Woo's eyes seemed to well up as he couldn't find the words to explain how he felt.
Lee Hyori comforted Cha Eun Woo by responding, "It's because it's an album that encompasses all those emotions. I think you are doing well by delivering those emotions through your album as an artist." Cha Eun Woo added, "It was difficult and I cried a lot but I feel proud of myself. I prepared this album hoping my heart to be conveyed well."
It sounds like an album made to convey his emotions and to say words he always wanted to say, rather than filled with songs solely to try and make a profit. It seems very personal, I hope it still does well for him ❤️
